Advocate Punit Handa

Mr. Punit Handa is an advocate enrolled in Punjab and Haryana High court and Delhi High Court (licence to practice all over india) . He qualified LLB from University of Delhi, Main campus in 1995. He is also a Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India since 1996. He has been meritorious throughout his academic career and in addition holds B.COM degree and DCLM (Diploma in Corporate Law and Management - Indian Law Institute, New Delhi).

He started practising as Insolvency Professional in 2017, after registering as Insolvency Professional under Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. He is actively involved in providing advisory to the Financial Institutions, Banks and Corporate about the action, initiation and resolution as per Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. He appears before differenct NCLT benches in India from time to time on behalf of client(s).

He has the distinct honour of becoming the Chairman of the Gurgaon Chapter of NIRC-ICSI in the year 2012 & again in 2015 and also headed various committees . He also served as member of Management Comiitee of Gurgaon Chapter of ICSI for 12 years from 2006 to 2018.

He has been instrumental in helping ICSI (Institue of Company Secretaries of India) in opening overseas branches of ICSI in the United States of America and the United Kingdom. For this act, ICSI gave certificate of appreciation issued under signature of the President of ICSI.

He possesses over 24 years of rich experience in Corporate Law Advisory and Compliances, Due Diligence, Private Placements, Business Set-up Services, Fund Raising, Trademark Registration and obtaining approvals of various Government and Regulatory Authorities viz. Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Regional Director, NCLT, etc.

He is proficient in drafting legal documents, handling corporate litigations and compliance management and performing secretarial functions. His qualifications with extensive exposure gives him an added advantage of having a sharp bent over both the commercial and practical aspect of various corporate transactions and an ability to assist clients holistically from the term sheet negotiation stage until overseeing post- closing compliances. He has independently advised on some of the important legal transactions involving complex legal and commercial issues.
